you, me, and the moon

I asked the moon if she
tucked you in last night
she rolled her eyes and demanded
why I wanted to know

I said it was because
I would have loved for you to stay
and read me poetry
but she took you away from me
cradled you in her arms
for I could not bring beautiful dawn
to your window
like she does every morning

      1. Yes – you were sitting on a swing hanging from the edge of her crescent, watching the owls wake and telling the stars to prepare for the night’s sky. 😊
