why I live in your temple

This is a verse
that is not meant as a chant,
mere repetition
of how his love feels—
waking me from the dead
over and over again

This is a verse
that does not serve as an offering,
rather a need to worship
all he is and what he embodies—
a dream once buried
coming back to life

And these are lines
laden with all that I am
sent in rushes of waves
desperately seeking an end
where our constellations converge
into one.
