I read and wept

this is a story
of a man in despair
who went to great lengths
to put food on the table

who went astray and found
the end of his journey
in jail

his was never
an easy life
but his path had always been straight
till money beckoned one day

I read and wept
and listened and wept
for the amount he stole
was the amount I,
sometimes unknowingly,
let wash away

and I,
broken inside
retreated into myself
deeper than before
begging for forgiveness
from the universe
vowing to count each drop
of blessings
till I no longer have
my breaths

      1. yes it has. I’m sorry I haven’t kept in touch. I’m hanging in, working too much, writing not as much as I would like and trying my damndest to get a cover for my next book. I have no idea how that search for a cover became an epic quest, but it did. I’m glad you’re still writing!

      2. Some quests will never get finished! I hope you get your objectives achieved. Yes, writing helps me relax most of the time. I’m pursuing my Master’s now, too, so things are getting a little more hectic.
