page 293

special place
in poetry book
where a beautiful piece
talks of silence and secrets
most of all,
where you scribbled
a little note
about us

  1. Enjoyed this piece, Annie. There is something, not for everyone, but about caring and poetry. Don’t know if I mentioned, but I have a small volume of TS Eliot poems I bought second hand and on the cover page: “Kath, with love, Bill, 1943.” As with your book, printed and handwritten stories.

    1. You’re right, Steve – there’s something in witnessing such feelings from the past, inked in the pages, and knowing that someone carried love for someone else and took great care of the book. Thank you, glad you enjoyed this.
