the problem with dreams

I made a mistake
in thinking
I could keep telling myself
a white lie
so I would not break

deep down I’d always known
there was more hidden
but dust seemed stuck
between stars

meanwhile, planets
continued to orbit stellar remnants

I turned a blind eye
because truth hurt
and fragile dreams
had no place
in the universe

you’re it

on tiptoe
demanding a kiss
from last night’s crescent moon
in place of you

stars peep overhead
run around playing tag
with their reflections

billions of luminous points
only one
orchestrates my heart beat

falling (for a) star

I see you cross my skies
gallivanting with stardust
and oh how I wish
for nothing else but for you
to land on my lap
so I could keep you
in a jar

out of reach

If the stars you plucked
were for me,
why are you keeping them
away and so far
out of my reach?

The universe knows of this love, but only the moon has seen your name carved on the walls of my heart.

The stars at night serve as nothing but lanterns to help the clouds slowly read the fine print sprayed across the skies, a vow to make our galaxies collide.

One line screams that you were born to be mine, and so my soul will find yours, no matter where you are.

minutes to impact

before I cross the galaxies
to be with you
tell me your stars
sparkle for nobody
but me

reading stars

how do you know
when you’re getting closer
to your dream

those goosebumps
are more than just
skin deep

they are a sign
something bigger
is descending—

something more magical
than the billions of stars
in the universe

written in the stars

the stars you hang
on my door

the last I see
before I drift to slumber
the first to greet me
as I cruise back to reality

you’re written in each one
just like your heart’s
engraved in mine
